Iran actor goes to 2019 Oscars

Iranian actor Mohsen Tanabandeh is on route to 2019 Oscars with Iran-Afghan film 'Rona, Azim's Mother'.

The Afghan Film Organization selected the film directed by Jamshid Mahmoudi to represent Afghanistan at the 2019 Oscars.

Produced by the director’s brother, Navid Mahmoudi, the 89-minute flick narrates the story of Azim.

He is an Afghan refugee working the night shifts at Tehran municipality. Being the head of his family he must choose between himself and his mother whom he claims is the most important one in his life.

Mohsen Tanabandeh, the flick star is a prolific Iranian actor who has won several national awards including the Best Actor in a leading role for 'The First Stone' (2009) and 'Seven Minutes to Autumn' (2009) from Fajr Film Festival.

Mojtaba Pirzadeh, Fatemeh Hosseini, Fereshteh Hosseini, Fatemeh Mirzaei, Alireza Ostadi, and Saeed Changizian are other cast members of the flick.

The 91st Oscars will be held in 2019 at Hollywood's Dolby Theatre.
